Spring Branch & Memorial High Schools

Welcome Class of '63

This web site is for students of the 1963 class of Spring Branch and Memorial High Schools in Houston, Texas.  Over the years most of us have drifted apart and gone our separate ways.  Now the computer and the internet have given us a way to renew old friendships and establish some new ones.  This site is for the class, so please offer any suggestions for new things you may want to see. Meanwhile, use what is here. For example, contact a classmate and wish them a happy birthday.  The following is some important information on how to navigate the site and what you can do with what is here.  Take a couple of minutes to read it the first time you visit.

Navigation

Navigate around the site using the buttons on the left side of each page.  Just use your mouse pointer and click to go to that page.

Registration

We have tried to add everyone that we had on a class roster, but if we missed you, please accept our apologies.  Therefore, most of you will not really need to register, but only update the information and bring our records up to date.  Registration is primarily for those who are friends of the class.  You may have moved, transferred to another school, graduated in a different year, or just think we look like a fun bunch of people.  To register as a friend, or register as a classmate that we missed, please fill out the registration form and press the submit button.  The registration form can be found as a button on the Directory page.

About the Form

On the registration form we are asking for some information that you may not want to enter, and that is ok.  But let me assure you that your address, phone number, and e-mail address will not display anywhere on the web site except when you are doing an update, and then only if you are the person that originally entered the data and know the password you used to enter it.  Your name and address will never be sold to any marketing company, unless they were to really make me a good offer, but I doubt our mailing list would be worth enough to make me sell it.  If it is I just found a way to retire early.

The minimum information that you would need to enter is a first name and a last name.  We encourage you to enter other data for the following reasons, but again that is your choice.

Address- You will get any reunion mailings and will be listed on the page that lists classmates by city and state.  Want to see if someone lives near you that you didn't know about?

Birthdays and Anniversaries - Use a date format of mm/dd/yy.  For instance the ides of March this year would be 03/15/01.  We all pretty well know how old you are, within a year either way in all probability, so there is no need to try and hide it.  We are all getting close to being real senior men and women, so just accept it.

Password - In order to prevent anyone from maliciously changing your address, getting access to your address, etc, please enter a password that you can remember when you need to update registration information.  The initial password for all users is "1", the number one without the quotes.   If you are having a senior moment and cannot remember what password you entered, let us know and we can re-set it for you, but you will need to convince us that you are really you.    We cannot be responsible for information that becomes public  if you do not change your password from something besides "1".

Photos

There are a lot of photos out there, so please send them in.  If you want to scan them yourself go ahead,  but if you don't have a scanner, or have slides that you can't scan, send us an e-mail.  We will give you an address where you can send them, and they will be returned.  We want all photos, from before high school up to current times.  Any reunion photos, any of those "couples" pictures that we all had taken at all of the dances, anything you find with classmates.  When you register, please try to find a current photo that can be loaded.  Send me the photo and we will load it.  The address is admin@springbranchmemorial63.com

Directory Page

The directory page lists each of the classes and all friends that have registered.  An asterisks after a name indicates that person has registered.  From this page you can list those that live in a specific state or have birthdays or anniversaries in a particular month.

Message Board

You may use the message board to leave notes and carry on a conversation with others.  Please use discretion.  We don't want to have to monitor this.  You can reply to a specific message or subject, or start up a new one.  One note - the replies will only go "four deep", that is if you have an original message with a reply, and that reply has a reply, and that reply has a reply, that is four deep.  The fifth level will not show up.  If you feel a fifth level is necessary, just start another subject.

Announcements Board

Feel free to announce anything you desire, using discretion.

Viet Nam Vets

We had several in the class that served in Viet Nam.  We would like to give them some special recognition. Please let us know who you are.  We would like to tell everyone when and where you served.
